Restoration of old grid of Imams al‑Hadi and al‑Askari reaches 90% completion

The Al‑Abbas Holy Shrine announced that 90% of the restoration of the old grid of Imams al‑Hadi and al‑Askari has been completed. The project includes repairing damage from the 2006 terrorist attack and restoring the 1962 structure for museum display.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Department of Manufacturing Holy Shrine Grids and Doors at the Al‑Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine announced that restoration work on the previous grid of Imams al‑Hadi and al‑Askari (peace be upon them) has reached 90% completion.

Mr. Nadhem Al‑Gharabi, the department head, explained that the technical teams have made major progress after transferring the old grid to a dedicated workshop, where they repaired the damage caused by the 2006 terrorist attack.

He noted that the restoration followed a comprehensive plan that included maintaining the grid built in 1962 and rehabilitating its damaged sections, preparing it to be sent to the holy shrine of the two Imams (peace be upon them) for display in its museum. He added that this work is part of a cooperation agreement between the Holy Shrines of Al‑Abbas and of Imams al‑Hadi and al‑Askari (peace be upon them).
